Comprehensive notes and study material are given to students appearing for examinations. As per revised syllabus of the Mandal, there is only oral test in Theory paper up-to Praveshika Poorna. The written examination in Theory is conducted from Madhyama Pratham onwards and the minimum age to appear for this examination is 13 years. The examiners are experts in the field from different places, appointed by the Mandal.  Knowledge of Carnatic music is essential for students learning Bharatanatyam. The curriculum covers questions on this aspect also. Music classes are conducted separately for dance exams and students can take advantage of this opportunity.
